Tower Falls 05:12
Stand! Remove the weight The guilt The burden That you've carried for so long Release your soul From this torment Climb the tower As it falls In vain they attempt To break you Weavers of lies Sewing ruin We must master This illusion Break free from Delusion These walls won't hold for long Climb the marble stairs Endure this mortal pain Overcome despair My weary legs are broken but I cannot kneel You won't strike me down Before my spirit heals Embrace the folded line Forget the thought of time Reclaim your inner self You're you that's who and no one else Higher and higher the spiral gyres Reach up to avoid the fire Remember who you are Higher and higher the spiral gyres Reach up to avoid the fire Know the truth leaves scars These walls won't hold for long Climb the marble stairs Endure this mortal pain Overcome despair My weary legs are broken But I will cannot kneel You won't strike me down Before my spirit heals

Dashed upon the rocks, Hopes become flotsam, And moonlight cannot Illuminate the invisible. But it casts its eerie glow Upon the brine amidst the ebb and flow. The current pulls my thoughts away, Dragging them into the onyx seas. Waves of black push me along A path with no destination. Visions of the purity of life Are fragmented upon exploration. As I see loop holes in the system, I always come to the same realization. Visions of the purity of life Are fragmented upon exploration. This life we live is a hallucination Brought about by blind creation! Finally the end is in sight, Truth burning through the depths of night.

You lied! So many times Behind Your mask of understanding. You know Nothing at all, Yet sew Seeds of hate from where you're standing On the divine throne, He waits For his praise, Satiates In playing God's rector. Corrupt Is he who leads the blind. Abrupt Will be his final vector. You cannot quell our strength, or condemn us to hell. The length of your power is wearing thin. Against us you will never win. We aren't the fools you lead before, Driving brother against brother, starting wars Between those who just want to do the right thing. Can you hear the death bells ring? You lied! So many times. You hide Behind your wall. We ride In truth and love To fight And force your final fall! From the divine throne.

Down the winding path past the bridge Lay a grave amidst a hollow on the ridge. A solemn place once thought unreal, But I know its grip too well, oh, so surreal! [Solo Saltsman] Once the grave comes into sight, Waves of energy and distortions of light Pound your senses into nothing at all; Twisted preparations for your infinite fall. [Solo Fedetz] Witness the end of days Through the eyes of the insane. Accept this forlorn gaze, Spiral down without refrain. And the journey's only just begun. In the quiet hours of the setting sun You will enter into the deepest depths of your dreams. Can you feel reality peeling at the seams? Finally a break from the bitter turmoil As you blink back into the real. Your mind's unraveling like a ribbon Caught in the wind of this lurid dusk hymn. [Clean Solo Saltsman] [Solo Fedetz] [Solo Saltsman] [Solo Fedetz] Within the breadth of this vision, You'll come to see The world in juxtaposition, The duality, The irony Of this mortality. Once you leave this place Your mind will never be the same. Down the winding path past the bridge Lay a grave amidst a hollow on the ridge. A solemn place once thought unreal, But I know its grip too well, oh, so surreal! And the journey's only just begun. In the quiet hours of the setting sun You will enter into the deepest depths of your dreams. Can you feel reality peeling at the seams?

"The songs are all very well composed and a joy to listen too... Open Wide the Sky is a rather creative prog band in a scene where a lot of the bands are starting to sound the same" -Two Guys Metal Reviews

about

Open Wide, The Sky Newark, Delaware

In 2010 "Open Wide, The Sky" began as a trio of like-minded musicians looking to play. As jam sessions became more frequent and our playing more and more cohesive, we reached the unanimous decision to step into bandhood. If Mastodon, Opeth, and Between the Buried and Me had a three way baby, that'd be us. So check out our album Monolith, a mixture of jazz, metal, rock, and a whole lotta love. ... more
